Singer James Taylor, 52, and his wife of just more than a month, Boston Sy mphony Orchestra publicist Caroline Smedvig, 47, will become parents in April when a surrogate mother gives birth to their twins, the Boston Globe and the same city’s Herald reported on Wednesday. The woman, said to be a family friend, underwent in-vitro fertilization in 2000. The Taylors are the biological parents, said the newspapers. The twins will be Taylor’s third and fourth children. He has two grown children, Sally and Ben, from his previous marriage to musician Carly Simon.
