Fire investigators confirmed on Wednesday that a suspicious blaze at the Augusta, Ga., office of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, was deliberately set. Personal possessions from Brown’s 40-year career were lost, as were master tapes of unrelased recordings. Brown, who turned 67 yesterday, has posted a $20,000 reward for information that will result in the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.
