Leave it to James Blunt to throw a “Beautiful” – and secret! – wedding.

The British singer quietly married legal consultant fiancée – and the granddaughter of the Duke of Wellington – Sofia Wellesley on Sept. 5, celebrating with family and friends on the Spanish island of Majorca over the weekend, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The pair were wed at a church and then hosted a party for their guests at the idyllic Mediterranean locale, where the bride’s family owns a home.

Blunt, 40, who once dated supermodel Petra Nemcova, began seeing Wellesley, who attended the University of Edinburgh with Pippa Middleton, in 2012. A year later, he popped the question, the Daily Mail reports.

The “Goodbye My Lover” singer once told The Daily Mail of his dating life, “It takes a strong person to be able to deal with somebody working in music.” Looks like he’s finally met his match.
