Celebrity Italian Astronaut Wears 'Star Trek' Uniform Aboard International Space Station Samantha Cristoforetti posted a snapshot of herself wearing a Star Trek uniform on the International Space Station By Drew Mackie Published on April 21, 2015 01:55 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti is currently aboard the International Space Station, so she’s already doing an awesome thing that most of us can only dream about doing. However, she’s also one-upping every other real-life astronaut by paying tribute to some of the most popular space-farers in pop culture: the crew from Star Trek. On Friday, Cristoforetti, 37, Tweeted a photo of herself wearing not just any Star Trek uniform but one from the series Star Trek: Voyager, the only spin-off to feature a female captain, Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). To top it all off, the photo was captioned ” ‘There’s coffee in that nebula’ ehm, I mean in that #Dragon,” in reference to the fact that the SpaceX vehicle Dragon arrived at the International Space Station with a special espresso maker designed especially for caffeination in space. http://pshared.5min.com/Scripts/PlayerSeed.js?sid=281&width=680&height=568&playList=518273452 So she’s making Star Trek nerds envious and paying respects to Captain Janeway while enjoying space-coffee. Ms. Cristoforetti, congratulations: You’re doing space the right way. Kate Mulgrew Would ‘Deck’ Anyone Who Insulted Her Cooking
