Newlyweds about town!

Stepping out publicly together for the first time since the news of their September wedding broke, Isabella Cruise and new husband Max Parker were all smiles as they strolled through North London.

Isabella, the 22-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman, said “I do” with Parker during an intimate ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

Parker, a British I.T. consultant, couldn’t stop beaming as they walked hand-in-hand on Saturday. Both were dressed casually for the day date – Parker in a short-sleeve graphic t-shirt and Isabella in an all black skirt and sweater ensemble.

The couple knew each other for less than a year, but a source and friend of the groom previously told PEOPLE: “They seem really into each other and are a really nice couple.”

The couple exchanged vows in front of a group of close friends, without Cruise, Kidman or Isabella’s brother Connor in attendance – to avoid media attention.

“He’s a really nice guy,” the source added, “and she’s lovely and down-to-earth.”

Isabella, who was adopted by her parents in 1993, has spent the past three years in the British capital working toward a career as a makeup artist. She graduated earlier this year from West London’s Delmar Academy of Make-up and Hair.

A source told PEOPLE Kidman, 48, wasn’t aware of her daughter’s wedding plans before the ceremony, but Cruise, 53, footed the bill for the celebration.

“She is very happy for Bella,” a source close to Kidman told PEOPLE. “She, like all mothers, wants her child to be happy, and it surely seems Bella is very happy.”
