Hours before Taylor Swift stepped out in a miniskirt Friday in New York City, Calvin Harris made a statement of his own, releasing a brand new song titled “My Way” – and the buzz has already begun as to whether or not it’s about his ex.

“[The] song’s about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then, you’re way more comfortable out of it,” Harris told iHeartRadio of his new single released Thursday night.

“And it could be anything,” he added cryptically. “It could be a job, or it could be a relationship. I had the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn’t know how to work out how it sounded.”

The Scottish deejay, 32, sings lyrics like, “Why wait / To say / At least I did it my way/ Lie awake / Two faced / But in my heart I understand / I made / My move / And it was all about you / Now I feel / So far removed” before going on to repeatedly sing, “You were the one thing in my way.”

The tune follows his smash hit “This Is What You Came For” featuring Rihanna and with lyrics written by Nils Sjoberg, who famously turned out to be 26-year-old Swift – a detail revealed only after the couple broke up.

Harris then blasted his ex on Twitter and later told British GQ, “all hell broke loose” after the break-up.
