At $76 million, the Madonna/Guy Ritchie divorce settlement is among the richest in the history of celebrity splits – but it sets no records.

Michael Jordan, Neil Diamond, Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner all had to shell out more, and the payout still leaves Madonna – with a reported $500 million fortune – sufficient means to live in her material world.

“Generally no one’s happy with a divorce,” family law specialist Lynn Soodik tells PEOPLE, “but it’s easier to be happy when you have millions versus nothing.”

The divorce does set one standard. It’s by far the most money given to a celebrity ex-husband.

Most Expensive Divorces

Here’s how the pop star and film director’s settlement stacks up against some other pricey celebrity divorces:

Michael & Juanita Jordan: $150 Million
The wife of the former Chicago Bulls star walked away that big payday in 2006 after an 18-year marriage.

Neil Diamond & Marcia Murphey: $150 Million
The Jazz Singer also paid $150 million to onetime TV production assistant Murphey, with whom he was married from 1969 to 1996.

Steven Spielberg & Amy Irving: $100 Million
They may have had a stormy relationship but the actress and producer amicably ended their 3 1/2-year union in 1989, with Spielberg handing over roughly half of his $200 million fortune.

Harrison Ford & Melissa Mathison: $85 Million
After 17 years of marriage, the couple shocked pals when they announced their split in 2000. Their solid relationship ended because the two were “just having their differences,” according to Ford’s manager at the time. Mathison, a screenwriter, got an estimated $85 million from the actor.

Kevin Costner & Cindy Silva: $80 Million
“I try to conduct my life with dignity and discretion – but marriage is a hard, hard gig,” the actor said just before he split with Cindy in 1994. The college sweethearts’ 16-year marriage ended with the couple sharing custody of their three kids, and Costner giving his ex $80 million.

Paul McCartney & Heather Mills: $48.6 Million
After six years of marriage, Mills requested $250 million from the former Beatle but received about a fifth of that. In 2008 a British court granted her a lump sum of $33 million, $15 million in real estate and $70,000 a year in child support.
