President Barack Obama’s inauguration on Monday will be a serious a historical event – but things kick off this weekend.

If you can’t be in Washington, D.C., in person to watch Beyoncé sing the National Anthem and witness Obama taking the oath of office, you can still create your own festive celebration.

Created by L.A. mixologist, Rob Floyd (Bar Centro at SLS Hotel), Basil Hayden’s “Running Mate” concoction combines spicy bourbon with cranberry, raspberry and blueberry, making a picture perfect red, white and blue drink to celebrate the U.S.A.

Ingredients
• 2 parts Bourbon
• ¾ parts cranberry juice
• ¾ parts lime juice
• ½ part simple syrup
• 1 pinch edible gold dust (optional)

Instructions
1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and shake.
2. Strain into a martini glass.
3. Garnish with two raspberries and one blueberry on a tooth pick.

Cheers!
