Don Imus got the boot in Bean Town. Boston radio station WEEI-AM is dropping “Imus in the Morning” on Aug. 24, saying the broadcast veteran has lost his edge. “He used to be very fast-paced and energetic. He was very passionate, and the audience was captured by it,” station program director Jason Wolfe told AP. The show (weekdays from 6-10 a.m.) had been No. 1 in the Boston market in 1996, but has since dropped from a 10 share to a 4.7 share. “It’s not entertaining anymore,” said Wolfe.
