But what fuels the 32-year-old the most is her past as a misfit growing up in rural Washington County, Pa.
“I’ve always loved technology. Growing up, I loved Nintendo and video games. I made my first website in sixth grade,” Ezarik says in the current issue of PEOPLE. “I was the only girl in my computer programming class.”
But the Internet changed all that for Ezarik, who now hopes to return the favor.

“I grew up in the middle of nowhere, I didn’t find other people who liked what I liked – especially girls. So being able to connect to people all across the world was life-changing,” says the online star. “Now no one has to feel alone.”
