“Smells like trouble” – Iggy Azalea‘s lyrics are becoming reality this week.
And Azalea, 25, is opening up about the scandal. In a series of tweets posted Wednesday, she touched on the future of her engagement after a fan asked “what’s up” with her and Young, 30.
“Nothing really. I’m chillin for now,” she replied.
Azalea went on to address a Twitter user who mentioned yet another alleged video of Young.
“If theres proof of cheating, shed be doing me a favor to post it actually. im not tryna marry a cheater,” she shared.
Minutes later, she answered a fan who wondered whether the relationship is salvageable.
Azalea penned, “I agree, nothing is black and white in life. every situation is different depending on the circumstance.”
The Austalian rapper and Young have shut down rumors since she opened up about postponing their wedding this year, but the athlete appeared to confirm their validity in the video, which his teammate D’Angelo Russell has denied was a prank.
“What happened is what happened,” said Young, 30, at a Los Angeles Lakers press conference hours after the clip went viral Wednesday.
But, really, what did happen? Read on for a timeline of the couple’s path, from wedding dress shopping to a “psychotic breakdown.”
Wedding Planning “Nightmare”
All seemed well for the lovebirds as recently as Jan. 6 – seven months after Young proposed with a 10.43-carat engagement ring – with Azalea even collaborating with Giorgio Armani on her custom wedding gown.
“It’s tough, it takes a lot of time and compromising and arguing but eventually the women always win,” he elaborated. “I think [wedding days] should just be women’s day.”
Although Azalea said the decision was made to accommodate her tour schedule, other revelations pointed to a larger issue. Admitting to having a “psychotic breakdown” in 2015, Azalea also told Power 106 FM that she “sometimes” felt suicidal. The “Fancy” singer said she wasn’t stressed about pushing the wedding date, though, and joked that Young was excited about being “a bachelor for longer.”
Sexual Harassment Accusations
On March 22, two women accused Young and Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson of sexually harassing them, according to Sports Illustrated. The team said they investigated the allegations, and were supportive of the players’ “interpretations of what happened.”
In response to the situation, Azalea told radio station 92.3 AMP, “That’s part of being a basketball player. There’s always something.”
Young’s video admission quickly went viral after catching the attention of his bride-to-be. “Hmmm i see D Angelo Russell is trending… I actually liked his film. Thanks bro,” Azalea tweeted Wednesday.
In the clip, Russell reportedly asks an unsuspecting Young, “You was 30 and she was 19?” as well as “What about Amber Rose?”
“No, she knows my girl,” Young responded.
Azalea went horseback riding later Wednesday, while Young confronted the situation head-on during a press conference before a Lakers game, saying, “I don’t want to get into my personal life right now.”
He added: “I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle the situation we have in a private matter, outside of the media. I think it’s something we do need to sit down and talk about and that’s about it. What happened is what happened. We’ve got to work on it.”
Russell, for his part, expressed regret over the leaked video and said he thinks he put Young and Azalea’s relationship in jeopardy.
“I feel as sick as possible,” explained Young’s teammate. “I wish I could make things better right away, but I can’t.”
A rep for Azalea did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
