Are Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea the latest celebrities to engage in a Twitter feud?

The duo raised eyebrows on social media this week after Azalea, 25, participated in a Twitter Q&A over the weekend and expressed frustration that their duet, “Pretty Girls,” failed to gain traction on the pop charts after it was released last month.

A day later, newly single Spears, 33, hit back on her Twitter account, seemingly aiming a subtle dig at Azalea, who canceled her "Great Escape" tour last month. Spears, meanwhile, recently extended her Vegas residency, “Britney: Piece of Me,” for three months.

Azalea appeared to try to downplay the controversy on Monday, explaining on Twitter that she was not intentionally throwing shade at Spears.

It’s possible all the angst about “Pretty Girls” might be for naught. Although the song has barely cracked the top 30 on the pop charts, its video has garnered nearly 80 million views on YouTube – and it still has plenty of time to compete for the title of Song of the Summer.
