Hulk Hogan Hits the Gym with Wife and Daughter Brooke After Being Awarded $115 Million in Sex Tape Trial
A jury in Florida handed down their verdict on Friday
After winning a big victory in the courtroom, Hulk Hogan hit the gym in Clearwater, Florida, alongside his daughter, Brooke Hogan, and wife Jennifer McDaniel.
Hogan (né Terry Bollea) got in his workout just one day after a jury in Florida awarded him $115 million in his lawsuit against Gawker Media, who published a portion of a sex tape of Hogan that was made without his knowledge.
“We’re exceptionally happy with the verdict,” Hogan’s legal team previously said in a statement to PEOPLE. “We think it represents a statement as to the public’s disgust with the invasion of privacy disguised as journalism. The verdict says no more.”
Nick Denton, the founder and proprietor of Gawker Media – which includes Gawker, who published the tape; women-focused site Jezebel; sports outlet Deadspin and tech blog Gizmodo, amongst others – said on Friday that he has already begun preparing an appeal.
brightcove.createExperiences(); The lawsuit centered around a recording of a sexual encounter that Hogan had with Heather Clem, the former wife of his then-friend “Bubba the Love Sponge” Clem, a radio shock jock. The tape was made five years before Gawker published their clip. Both Clem and Hogan testified that they did not know they were being recorded when they had sex in the Clems’ master bedroom.
“I felt numb,” Hogan testified regarding the release of the tape. “The news just hit me that they told me that Bubba was on the end of the tape saying, ‘Heather, this is our retirement.’ ”
“My hands started shaking…. I could not stop shaking,” he added. “It turned my world upside down.”
