What is the most important thing for Team Oscar hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco to bear in mind on Feb. 27?

“Have fun!” advises Hugh Jackman, who hosted Hollywood’s big night all by himself in 2009. Jackman, 42, shared his suggestion while attending Friday night’s Audi Forum Dallas pre-Superbowl cocktail party.

As PEOPLE’s 2008 Sexiest Man Alive also wishes to tell Hathaway and Franco: “Enjoy the gala! Enjoy the first hour, the first hour and a half. From that moment on, there are a lot of seat fillers out there and people who are really tired.”

Jackman’s appearance as host received critical acclaim for his high energy, his singing and dancing, and his sex appeal. At the beginning of the show, he got things off to a rousing start by pulling Hathaway from her seat so she could help him pay musical tribute to the year’s nominated films.

As Hathaway later told PEOPLE, her favorite moment of that night was “being in Hugh Jackman’s arms and him carrying me on stage!”

The 83rd annual Academy Awards will air live Sunday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on ABC from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
