Wisteria Lane’s hunky plumber has a new gig: baseball-team owner.

James Denton, who plays Mike Delfino on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, has followed a lifelong passion by becoming a part owner of the Fullerton Flyers Professional Baseball Club, an independent minor-league team based at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, Calif., his rep announced Monday.

Denton admits his acting gig generally plays second fiddle to the sport for which he has long had a passion. “I have an acting job to support my baseball habit,” he says. “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to own my own ball club, and when presented the chance I couldn’t say no.”

He adds that he wouldn’t be above pulling a few Hollywood strings to pull in the next Mo Vaughn, even temporarily. “I think one of the first orders of business will be to offer walk-on roles on Desperate Housewives to any to any .300 hitter in the bigs that will suit up for me for at least one game.”
