"It goes with everything" – from skirts to jeans and gauchos (on Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Jessica Simpson and Elle MacPherson). 02 of 10 TREND: KNIT CAP Ronald Asadorian/Splash; Malibu Media Want to stay toasty and still look cool? Throw on a knit cap, Kaufman says. Here, Beyoncé (left) goes for whimsy with a fur pom-pom while Keira Knightley puts function first. 03 of 10 TREND: BLACK OPAQUE TIGHTS Tsuni/Gamma; Jill Johnson/JPI Forget having to freeze for fashion: Black opaque tights are back in vogue, even for evening. For an edgier look, Kaufman says to pair them with short dresses (on Amanda Peet and Mary-Kate Olsen). 04 of 10 TREND: LACE-UP BOOTS RAMEY; MALIBU MEDIA; Dave M. Benett/Getty Gwyneth Paltrow, Mariah Carey and Sienna Miller bring the focus to their legs with Victorian lace-up boots. Wear them with a full skirt or tucked in jeans. 05 of 10 TREND: TULIP SKIRT Humberto Carreno/Startraksphoto; Grant Lamos IV/FWD; Bauer-Griffin The flared hem of tulip skirts (on Ashanti, Alexis Bledel and Lucy Liu) balances out the hips, creating one of the most wearable silhouettes, Kaufman says. Another plus: They have "the sexiness of a pencil skirt, but you can walk in them." 06 of 10 TREND: CROPPED FUR JACKET Carley Margolis/FilmMagic; Andrea Renault/ GLOBE; Arnaldo Magnani/Getty Fur stoles in bright colors? So last year. This season, the cropped fur jacket is a fashionista favorite. "You could picture Lucille Ball wearing one of these," says Kaufman of the '50s-style outerwear (on Nicole Richie, Mary J. Blige and Eva Longoria). 07 of 10 TREND: PLATFORM SHOES RAMEY; Jean-Paul Aussenard/WireImage; AP Photo/Chris Polk Platform shoes "are taking over the universe," says Kaufman. "It's good news for small women because they can get the extra height without having to wear four-inch stilettos." Just don't go clunky; instead, opt for sleek, like Ashley Olsen's Christian Louboutin heels (left) or Eva Mendes's and Lindsay Lohan's 1940s-inspired look. 08 of 10 TREND: OVERSIZED CARDIGAN James Devaney/WireImage; INFGoff; Luisa Johns/Photokinetic Mariah Carey, Lindsay Lohan and Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland are all wrapping themselves in the cozy sweaters. Belted or button-down, "they're comfortable and easy, like your boyfriend's sweater you pulled from the closet," says Kaufman. 09 of 10 TREND: FUR BAG Ronald Asadorian/Splash; Howard Wise/ Shooting Star; RAMEY Add a touch of luxe to your everyday look with a fur carryall, as toted by Beyoncé, Sharon Stone (with Fendi) and Eva Longoria (sporting Coach). "They're for dressing up the daytime," says Kaufman. 10 of 10 TREND: BELTED COAT Ronald Asadorian/Splash; Daniel Deme/WENN /Landov; DP/AAD/starmaxinc Coats don't have to be bulky and shapeless; they can actually be sexy. Take a page from Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz's stylebook with a belted coat, and add a waist to your winter wear.
