Becoming a mom to daughter Stella, born June 9, was an opportunity for Spelling to rewrite her own personal history. "Because my mother and I have always had a complicated relationship, I always wanted a girl to prove that the past doesn't have to repeat itself," the actress (with Stella, husband Dean McDermott and 21-month-old son Liam) told PEOPLE in March. "I can't wait to be a great mom and friend to her."

Always the comedian, Sandler joked to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in May that he gave 2-year-old daughter Sadie Madison this advice about wife Jackie's morning sickness (with Sunny Madeline, born Nov. 2): "I had to try to relax my daughter, just saying, 'Mommy's not like bad sick. She just has something growing in her that's eventually gonna shoot out her vagina and take half your toys.' "

The Biggest Loser host, who's expecting a daughter with husband Dave Sanov on Jan. 20, has found a different set of cravings with her second pregnancy. "I definitely have a sweet tooth," she told PEOPLE in August. "With my son [Jack, who turns 4 on Feb. 25], I craved savory things. My doctor said to buy fruit at the farmer’s market. I bought a cantaloupe, and I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing."

After wife Luciana gave birth to daughter Gia Zavala on Aug. 20 (joining 2-year-old Isabella and stepdaughter Alexia, 10), Damon says his overprotective instincts kicked into high gear. In fact, the actor jokes that he's earned the nickname Red Alert. "If any of the kids were near anything close to being dangerous, I would say, 'Is she touching that?' or 'Watch out!' And the whole family would go, 'Red alert! Red alert!' "
