Despite alleged fist fights and bottle-throwing that brought an end to the ceremonies 2 1/2 hours into the taping earlier this week, the Source magazine Hip-Hop Music Awards 2000 will be broadcast on Aug. 29 as originally scheduled by UPN, the network has announced. New scenes will be taped to include awards that were not presented because of the police shutdown (no arrests were made), said a UPN spokesperson. The network broadcast the show for the first time last year and generated UPN’s highest ratings ever for a Friday night.
