Following Hillary Clinton‘s speech and acceptance of the Democratic nomination, celebrities flocked to Twitter celebrating the first woman to represent a major party in a presidential election. The congratulatory posts came far and wide, with her political pals Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama offering well wishes, as A-listers like Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson, Elizabeth Banks and Tony Bennett did the same. “When any barrier falls in America it clears the way for everyone.. When there are no ceilings the sky is the limit! Bravo @HillaryClinton,” Oprah wrote, quoting the former Secretary of State before she added, “Glass ceiling cracked wide open #HillaryClinton #DemsInPhilly.” Scandal stars Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn also chimed in with Goldwyn acknowledging the groundbreaking moment with, “History made. #imwithher #dnc2016,” while Washington wrote, “#DealMeIn #ImWithHer.” Other stars who offered their thoughts included Uzo Aduba, Patricia Arquette, Ashley Judd, Amy Schumer, and second lady Dr. Jill Biden. Clinton accepted her party’s nomination on Thursday night in a moving speech, during which she challenged many of the cornerstones of Donald Trump‘s campaign. “Every generation of Americans has come together to make our country freer, fairer, and stronger,” she said. “None of us can do it alone. That’s why we are stronger together.”
