She may be a mom, but Hilary Duff looks as fresh-faced as she did during her Disney days.

The star was enjoying a ladies lunch in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood on Sunday, noshing on chicken paillard with four girlfriends at Balthazar, when a server took the title of her new show, Younger, a little too literally.

“The waiter didn’t recognize her and when she ordered a glass of champagne, he carded her!” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “But she was super gracious about it.”

Wearing a black-and-gray striped shirt, Duff, 27, looked “flawless” and “gorgeous,” the source says.

The actress and singer is in town to film her new TV Land sitcom, created by Sex and the City‘s Darren Star and costarring Sutton Foster and Debi Mazar.
