Heston's Blind Attack

In the upcoming issue of Guns and Ammo magazine, actor and National Rifle Association president Charlton Heston takes aim at ’60 Minutes’ for engaging in “SWAT team journalism” in a profile of him. But reporter Mike Wallace tells Variety columnist Army Archerd that Heston’s assessment of the program is unfair, and furthermore, the actor hasn’t even seen the “60 Minutes” segment, which airs Sunday. Heston admits he hadn’t seen the episode when he wrote his column, but he said, “I suspect it follows the same pattern of character assassination” he’s had to face from other media outlets. Wallace says he thinks Heston will be embarrassed when he sees the show because “it’s a pleasantly sensible piece of journalism.”
