Hercules Takes a Hike

Kevin Sorbo is looking to retire his skins. The “Hercules” star says he’s ready to leave the syndicated TV series when his contract expires later this year — unless producers grant him a hefty salary raise, says Variety. Production on the show’s 1999-2000 season (it debuted in 1995) has already begun in New Zealand. Sorbo is contractually bound to star in another eight episodes, leaving producers with the unwelcome prospect of replacing the lead in the middle of the season. “Kevin is looking forward to moving back to the United States, where he’ll finally have the opportunity to make movies,” says his agent, who also claims another TV series is also a possibility.
