The actress shares the secret to her success

She’s won an Oscar, two golden globes and four Emmys so when Helen Mirren offers up advice to aspiring actors it’s probably best to listen.

Mirren says the best advice she could give anyone is, “Be on time. Don’t be an a——.”

The actress, 70, who is currently playing red-baiting gossip columnist Hedda Hopper in the new film Trumbo, says the world of show business can often be unstable.

“It’s such a crapshoot. I’ve seen the most talented actresses’ careers just crumble for reasons that are utterly random,” says Mirren.

And while she says she’s been “very lucky” in her career she admits acting can be a tough business and all one can really do is “hope for the best.”
