Brides have all sorts of things to worry about while planning their big day, but political strife is typically not one of them.

Due to conflict in Ukraine, Hayden Panettiere and her fiancé, Ukranian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, have decided to wait on picking out tuxedos and floral arrangements.

“Everything that’s happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time,” the actress, 24, tells Parade magazine.

Panettiere and her husband-to-be are closely tied to the events in Ukraine – Klitschko’s brother Vitali sits on the Ukrainian Parliament and is one of the leaders of the democratic reform movement. Panettiere even traveled to Ukraine last December to speak to protesters.

“It s a beautiful country with beautiful people and a culture that I love,” the Nashville star has said.
