Apparently Harrison Ford is an even bigger hero than his Star Wars alter ego.

Details of the highly anticipated film Star Wars: The Force Awakens were released Thursday at a Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim – but some of the most exciting news for fans was the status of Ford after his plane’s crash landing on March 5.

“The amazing thing about Harrison – and I don’t think anybody out there will be surprised – is he is the only person who could make an emergency landing on a golf course in front of two doctors,” producer Kathleen Kennedy said during a panel discussion.

Kennedy says he is home resting and getting well as fast as he can.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how much he wanted to be here,” she said. “When we open the movie, Han Solo will be very active in what we are doing.”

Director Abrams also said Ford sends fans his best.

“He’s doing great and he’s working hard,” Abrams said. “I had respect for him all my life, but I’ve never had more respect for a guy until I saw how he landed that plane.”

“He’s more of a hero in that move than in all the films he’s been in,” he added.

The Star Wars Celebration continues to stream live on starwars.com.
