Nearly two weeks after his plane crash, Harrison Ford is continuing to recover from his injuries – with a major dose of T.L.C. from his wife, Calista Flockhart.

In the week following the accident, the actor, 72, received daily visits at his bedside from Flockhart, 50, who regularly headed to the Los Angeles hospital after taking the couple’s 14-year-old son Liam to school.

“She drops Liam off in the morning and then spends hours with Harrison,” says a source. “She brings him food and reading material.”

The couple, who wed in 2010 after eight years together, have discussed their shared passion for flying in the past and a source told PEOPLE that the crash and its aftermath have been “terrifying” for them.

A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board states that the crash was caused by “substantial damage following a loss of engine power.”

An eyewitness on the scene previously told PEOPLE that Ford suffered a five- or six-inch gash about “the size of a pancake.” However, a surgeon said that the inures to his face and scalp will “heal very well and fade with time.”
