The internet can be an amazing place for creators and their fans to interact with one another, but it also can be a place for a lot of negativity.

At VidCon 2016, some of YouTube’s biggest stars took a moment out of their busy schedules to discuss online bullying, emphasize the importance of positivity and support the #HackHarassment initiative.

“Sometimes online there are what we call trolls or bullies that want to leave negative comments,” GloZell Green says in a #HackHarassment video produced by PEOPLE. “That’s just because they feel bad about themselves and they want to spread that.”

“The best thing to do is just force yourself to not read into the hate and just push it away because if you don’t see it, it’s not there,” Joey Graceffa says in the video, which also features influencers Hannah Hart, Rosanna Pansino, Baby Ariel, Anna Akana, Todrick Hall, Mamrie Hart, Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs.

“I would like to encourage everyone to have more positive, constructive comments online because in the end we are all people and we all want to learn something from each other,” says Akana.

“Please take the time to leave something kind or don’t leave it at all,” adds Green. “You know? that’s an option, also.”
