Super & Supernatural: 10 Times Hollywood Hallo-Won
FERGIE & JOSH: THE COOLEST COUPLE
Why they won: Their couple costume was drop-dead hot.
Inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead, which honors the deceased, the dress-up-loving twosome got into the spirit of the holiday in 2013 with coordinating black skeleton outfits and skull-like makeup. The result? Spook-tacular!
THE HARRIS-BURTKAS: BEST FAMILY EVER
Why they won: It's no fantasy: This Alice in Wonderland quartet deserved all the treats.
We were grinning like a Cheshire Cat when we saw Neil Patrick Harris as Tweedledee, husband David Burtka as Tweedledum and their 3½-year-old twins, daughter Harper as Alice and son Gideon as the White Rabbit, going about their 2013 Halloween adventure.
ELLEN DEGENERES: MOST UNLIKELY PAIRING
Why she won: This was DeGeneres as we'd never seen her before – but her Nicki Minaj homage was as unexpected as it was perfect.
A revealing top, leather pants and a long blond wig – oh my! DeGeneres put her usual hosting gear aside to channel the rapper on her talk show's 2013 Halloween episode, joking, "Here are my boom booms, and here's my super bass." And while we don't see DeGeneres recycling the look on a non-holiday, Minaj loved the spoof too, posting on Instagram, "I didn't know Ellen could get any sexier."
LAUREN CONRAD: THE DIY DIVA
Why she won: We didn't believe in the tooth fairy until we saw Conrad's magical DIY number – that's skill.
That's right – no hocus-pocus here: The craft guru clocked in a few hours and used yards and yards of tulle ("You can never have too much," she says in the step-by-step on her blog) to create this ethereal gown in 2013. To underscore the tooth-fairy theme, Conrad made her fiancé (now husband), William Tell, dress up as a dentist.
HEIDI KLUM: MISTRESS OF DISGUISE
Why she won: How many supermodels would willingly leave the house with a face full of wrinkles, gray hair and wearing sensible shoes?
She spends the other 364 days of the year looking like she stepped out of a fashion magazine – that's not always far from the truth! – so Klum likes to go all out at her annual Halloween parties. In the past, she's been an alien, a serpent and a black crow, but she outdid herself in 2013 with her dramatic transformation from sexy siren to great-granny, a humorous acknowledgment that she was turning 40.
BEYONCé: THE HOTTEST MAMA
CHLOË GRACE MORETZ'S DOG: MOST FUR-OCIOUS
Why she won: Moretz's cute pooch, dressed as a "witchy villain" for Halloween 2012, cast a spell on us.
It's hard to resist the temptation to put an adorable pet in silly clothing. But Moretz didn't go to extremes, keeping it classic with a tiny black witch's hat for her good-natured dog, Jaxon. He even sat still for a photo!
KELLY OSBOURNE: HALLOWEEN QUEEN
Why she won: We could barely keep up with Osbourne's different looks, one more sensational than the next.
What do you do when you get invited to three different Halloween parties? If you're Osbourne, you wear a different costume to each bash. The Fashion Police star put her creativity on display as Stephen King's bloody prom queen Carrie, Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and Dame Edna Everage – all in the same week!
TODAY CAST: #TBT PERFECTION
Why they won: This look back at some of yesteryear's beloved TV characters by Today's cast was, well, great TV.
It was a trip down TV lane in 2013 when the anchors went all out as Wilma and Betty (Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb), Laverne and Shirley (Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales), and Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff's Baywatch alter egos (Matt Lauer and Willie Geist) for the show's always-hilarious Halloween episode.
NAOMI WATTS: LEAST SCARY CLOWN
Why she won: She's smiling and pushing a stroller, making Watts the only clown to not leave us crying under our beds.
When Watts ventured out with her kids and partner Liev Schreiber for some Halloween trick-or-treating in 2011, she put on a sunny yellow wig and cheerful red polka-dot jumpsuit – no exaggerated frown or water-spraying flower lapel to give us nightmares through November!
