Halle Berry made a stunning appearance on Tuesday night at Spectre: The Black Women of Bond Tribute, her first public event since she and Olivier Martinez announced their divorce after more than two years of marriage.
Berry, 49, was all smiles on the night, held at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles, and posed with current Bond girl Naomie Harris.
Along with Harris, Berry also met up with fellow Bond girl alums including Trina Parks and Gloria Hendry.
Once inside the event, she gave a touching speech, calling her experience as a Bond girl in Die Another Day a “highlight” of her career.
“I’m humbled to be here, and be reminded, like everybody else, of what you ladies did, and the path that you paved so that Naomie and I could be here with you, so thank you,” she said. “Thank you for the debt that you paid.”
She continued: “To be a part of this legacy is a huge, huge honor, it’s a highlight of my career, and I will never forget my experience. It’s one of the best experiences of my entire life.”
The Oscar winning actress and Martinez filed dueling divorce papers last week, citing irreconcilable differences.
It has been a tough few days for Berry, after her first husband David Justice ranted about the actress on Twitter and spoke out about her divorce from Martinez.
Berry’s second husband Eric Benet then joined the conversation via Twitter on Tuesday to support Justice and his comments.
Justice mentioned Berry’s other relationships including Benet, Martinez and Gabriel Aubry, in a now-deleted Tweet. “Yup.. Me, Eric, Gabriel and Olivier were all her ‘Knight in Shining Armor’, until it ends.. Then we all become the worst guys in history,” he wrote in one post.
The actress first met Martinez on the set of the film Dark Tide in 2010 and wed in 2013. Both sides have said they want to proceed with the divorce amicably.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Berry and Martinez are taking steps to avoid a bitter custody battle over their 2-year-old son, Maceo.
