Halle Berry Cited

Prosecutors are deciding whether or not to bring formal charges against actress Halle Berry, who was accused by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday of fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run car accident. Both Berry and the other driver were injured in the Feb. 23 collision that took place on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. The criminal complaint by the Sheriff’s office alleges that Berry, 33, was behind the wheel of a rented car that ran a red light. The woman driving the other car was treated for a broken wrist, while Berry’s spokesperson told Reuters that the actress cut her forehead and required 15 to 20 stitches. In a statement, Berry, who won a Golden Globe for acting in the HBO TV movie “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” and who recently announced that she was engaged to marry R&B singer Eric Benet, said she is “taking this situation very seriously.”
