Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Some of Her Favorite Recipes
The Oscar-winner launches her new lifestyle blog by sharing her favorites
Gwyneth Paltrow‘s first recipes on her new blog reveal that the famously fussy actress eats carbs, meat – even maple syrup.
Paltrow, who turns 36 on Saturday, began her blog, GOOP to share her food tips, style notes and “a little bit of everything that makes up my life.”
Now in her first entry about food and cooking sent to fans who have signed up for the site, the actress – who stars in the new PBS series Spain On the Road Again with her pal Mario Batali – protests that her reputation for only eating seaweed and brown rice is old hat. For four years she was strictly macrobiotic, she acknowledges, but “I am no longer so restrictive with my diet, far from it.”
Still, Paltrow is not exactly serving up burgers and TV dinners to husband Chris Martin and kids Apple, 4, and Moses, 2. Red meat and processed foods are completely off the menu. “I try to stay away from sugar and dairy but I have a major cheese weakness and well, you only live once.”
The posting features two recipes: Turkey ragu (a substitute for beef-based spaghetti sauce) – which she makes on Saturday mornings “when the kids are having breakfast or running around the garden” – and banana-nut muffins made with maple syrup and brown rice syrup instead of sugar. “These never last long in our house,” Paltrow proclaims.
