Gwen Stefani Lets George Clooney and Julia Roberts Hitch a Ride for Her Carpool Karaoke with James Corden
Talk about A-list passengers!
As if Gwen Stefani wasn’t enough – the No Doubt singer brought along some famous faces to her carpool karaoke with James Corden – shown on The Late Late Show Wednesday night.
First off Stefani and Corden belted out No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak,” followed by her solo hits “Used to Love You,” “The Great Escape,” and “Rich Girl.”
Once they had picked up their movie star guests, the group sang “Hollaback Girl,” and discussed their interpretations of the song before launching into a rousing version of Queen’s “We Are The Champions.”
“I know what [a ‘Hollaback girl’] is,” Clooney declared. “‘Ain’t no hollaback’ meaning, if some guys are on a construction site and they’re yelling at a girl, she’s not going to turn back. She’s not that kind of a girl.”
Although Stefani said Clooney’s interpretation was “pretty close,” she said she would never reveal the real meaning and “real inspiration” behind the song.
“All I’ll say is, I won,” Stefani said. “That’s all I’ll say.”
To that, Clooney replied: “This s— is bananas. B-a-n-a-n-a-s.”
After the super star-studded edition of Carpool Karaoke, Corden took to Twitter to boast about the segment.
“Just admit it, you were dancing around your living room to @gwenstefani singing on #CarpoolKaraoke (We won’t judge),” he wrote.
