Green Undergoes Knife

MTV’s wild and crazy comic Tom Green, 28, underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital yesterday to have lymph nodes removed. The procedure followed his surgery last week for removal of a cancerous testicle. Green, who revealed his medical condition during an interview on TV’s “Entertainment Tonight” this week, is “in excellent spirits and is expected to make a full recovery soon,” his publicist told the Associated Press. She added that Green expects to attend the Oscars this Sunday. Lymph nodes are frequently removed in cancer cases to insure that malignant cells have not spread throughout the body. Green first discovered he had cancer after a March 9 doctor’s exam. While he undergoes treatment, which could include chemotherapy and/or radiation, production of “The Tom Green Show” has been placed on hold. As Green joked on “Entertainment Tonight,” during his lymph node surgery doctors also planned to remove a rib and hand it to him as a souvenir. “I wonder how much my rib would go for on eBay,” he quipped. “Ten to 15 bucks?”
