Marlon Brando is said to be in negotiations to star with Robert De Niro in the upcoming crime drama “The Score,” an agent for Brando told Reuters. The movie, to be directed by Frank Oz (“Bowfinger,” “In & Out”), concerns a young criminal, to be played by Edward Norton, who upsets the retirement plans of a master thief (by De Niro) when he blackmails him into performing one last caper. Brando would play the thief’s mentor. Now, for $1 million (in play money), what movie role linked the two revered actors? (Answer: Don Corleone, in “The Godfather” “The Godfather II.” Both actors won Oscars for playing him, Brando in the 1972 original and De Niro in the 1974 sequel.)
