Among the dream teams considered to helm the flagging “Good Morning America”: husband and wife Maury Povich and Connie Chung. The New York Post says, “That bit of brain-storming was short-lived, however, since Connie declined and Maury made a multi-year commitment to continue hosting his daytime talk show.” As for outgoing anchor Lisa McRee — to be replaced Jan. 18 by Diane Sawyer — New York’s Daily News reports she’s packing up and preparing to head back to LA. While in New York, says the paper, her hangout was the Upper East Side Mexican restaurant Zocalo. “Ironically,” the paper reports, “Sawyer walked in there the other night for the first time ever. It may — as they say — have been a sign.”
