Of all the fans showing their support for Giuliana Rancic – who announced she will undergo a double mastectomy Monday – none have been more vocal or more visible than her husband.

“Thank you for the outpouring of prayers for Giuliana!” Bill Rancic Tweeted Monday, hours after his wife made the announcement. “Yes … Thank u all!” Giuliana added.

From the very beginning of her battle with breast cancer, the E! host’s husband has been by her side, on- and off-camera.

“Giuliana has had a tough year and a half,” Bill said of his wife, 37, in October. “Between the IVF attempts and now with this, I wish I could carry some of the load. Watching her being wheeled into the [operating room] was heartbreaking for me.”

Rancic underwent a double lumpectomy in October and could have undergone the procedure again, along with radiation. But she chose the more radical surgical route (which Christina Applegate also underwent in 2008) to increase her long-term chances of survival.

“At the end, to be honest, all it came down to was just choosing to live, and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life,” said Rancic, who discussed her decision on The Today show Monday with Bill at her side, just as he’s done for several TV appearances since her diagnosis.

Bill has been “unbelievable,” Giuliana said in October. “The best thing about Bill is, he lets me cry when I want to cry.”
