Another glimpse of G.I. Zayn!

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were spotted holding hands early Sunday as they left The Nice Guy (the place where it all started) in Los Angeles.

The two stars were seen leaving the celebrity hotspot at around 2:30 a.m., holding hands and sporting similar ensembles. “They weren’t all over each other, but it was obvious they were on a date,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “They were cozy.”

Rumors of romance between the two began circulating last week when the model and former One Direction singer were spotted leaving Justin Bieber‘s American Music Awards afterparty at The Nice Guy.

Hadid and Malik further fueled dating rumors just days later when they took to The Nice Guy together again with Hadid’s younger sister, Bella.

However, a source previously told PEOPLE that the outing wasn’t romantic.

“It wasn’t a date and there wasn’t any PDA,” the source said. “They all had a fun time, but it didn’t seem romantic or like a date.”

Both Hadid, 20, and Malik, 22, are newly single. The model and Joe Jonas ended their five-month relationship earlier this month and Malik called off his engagement to Perrie Edwards in July. Jonas, for his part, is updating his Instagram correspondingly: He unfollowed Hadid over the holiday weekend and deleted a picture from earlier this year that showed him posing with Malik and Kanye West. The caption on the photo read “squad.”

After their initial Nice Guy outing, a source told E! that Hadid is “not looking to jump into another relationship soon.”

“They are just friends and are casually hanging out,” the source said of Hadid and Malik. “Gigi is a relationship-type girl, but she wants to just have some fun and take time for herself and her career at the moment.”
