The chefs, who are longtime friends, were spotted dining at Cecconi’s in the private Soho Beach House Saturday night after working together at a local event. Both seemed in a good mood and enjoyed a spirited dinner with drinks. “They were laughing and talking and enjoying the fabulous weather,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Neither seemed to have a care in the world.” On Monday, De Laurentiis, 44, announced her split from Thompson, a fashion designer with whom she shares daughter Jade, 6½. De Laurentiis wrote on her website and Facebook that “although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family’s happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths. “We share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything. We are so thankful for our friends and family, and really appreciate the support in this time of change.” Thompson was the first to file for divorce. De Laurentiis responded shortly after on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. The papers state that the couple separated in July, and they are requesting joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. Chef entrepreneur Flay, 50, who owns Bobby’s Burger Palace in Miami, is married to actress Stephanie March. • Reporting by MARY GREEN
