Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell’s weekend wedding was a Southern fairy tale come true.

In an exclusive sneak peek from their wedding video (shot by the groom’s brother-in-law Todd Urick, the newlyweds show off snippets from their perfect day – including their first dance “Dance with Me,” a song the “Home” singer wrote with his friend and fellow musician Tim Bruns.

“It’s pretty amazing! I might make her cry,” Phillips told People exclusively about the song, which was performed by Bruns at the wedding (captured by Jay Houston of Click Photography). “Tim’s just an incredible guy and his voice is awesome.”

Phillips’ close friend Dave Eggar accompanied Bruns with a cello, and he also played with a guitarist and violinist earlier in the day at the ceremony as Blackwell walked down the aisle with her father.

“What I love most about her is she’s my best friend and I can tell her anything,” says Phillips about his love of seven years. “We are fun. We have our own little language that we talk to one another [in] and it’s weird!”

Adds his new wife: “My parents always say there’s no one that would put up with the stuff that I do except for Phillip because we just like to have fun and we’re very honest. When I met Phillip, he was the answer to so many questions that I had. He just makes everything make sense for me. I feel so safe and comfortable with him.”

The happy couple – who are honeymooning in Turks and Caicos – exchanged customized vows (“Forget your songwriting, my vows are incredible!” joked Blackwell) under a large oak tree before celebrating with their friends and family at a Southern-style reception catered by local company Merry Acres.

Phillips, 25, and Blackwell, 23, each had eight attendants in their bridal party. The singer’s best man was his childhood friend Ben Haggerty, and Blackwell’s maid of honor was her “oldest friend” Jetta Griffin.

“I’m so excited,” the star said about becoming a married man. “I just love her.”
