She’s a bride-to-be, but at the recent wedding of a cousin, Amal Alamuddin played a very different role – the officiant!

Alamuddin and her fiancé, George Clooney, attended the Italian nuptials of the stepdaughter of Darina Pavlova, a Bulgarian tycoon and heiress. The groom is reportedly Alamuddin’s cousin, Bahrain-based businessman Tarek Miknas.

The pair, who have been relaxing with their families at Clooney’s Lake Como estate, spent July 10 near Florence at the 15th-century Villa Mangiacane.

A source confirms that Clooney, 53, was in attendance as well, but notes that the Oscar winner maintained a low profile to ensure the spotlight remained on the wedding party.

Alamuddin, 36, a London-based attorney and activist, officiated the symbolic ceremony and stood with the bride and groom on a grassy ledge overlooking Florence and the surrounding countryside under a canopy of grape vines. The estate stretches out for 600 acres and features vineyards and olive groves.

Perhaps Clooney and Alamuddin picked up an idea or two for their own big day?
