Happy 2nd Anniversary, George and Amal: See Pics from their First Two Years of Marriage
This shot of the beaming bride and groom was snapped as the pair headed to Venice's city hall to finalize their wedding on Sept. 29, 2014.
BY LAND OR BY SEA
The Clooneys traversed Venice in appropriately glamorous fashion, frequently taking water taxis to get around during their nuptials. Here, they make their way from the Aman Canal Grande Hotel to brunch at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani with their guests.
Two years into their marriage, the Clooneys, here at a Casamigos Tequila bash, "are still acting like newlyweds," a source tells PEOPLE.
"With Amal, he seems to have found his equal," a source tells PEOPLE of the couple, pictured here in Ibiza in 2015. "He is smiling more and seems more relaxed."
"Despite being such high profile personalities, each in their own field, they have that quiet and elegant poise as a couple," an Italian source tells PEOPLE of the couple, photographed with their pups in 2015 in N.Y.C.
KEEPING IT CLOSE
"Between all their important work, they seem very focused on keeping their marriage happy and healthy too," a source tells PEOPLE. "They seem very keen on not spending too much time apart." Case in point: walking the carpet together at the 2015 Golden Globes.
HATS OFF TO THEM
Since their 2014 nuptials, "I don't have the impression that she has changed at all," human rights expert Professor William Schabas tells PEOPLE. "She is the same person she was before. She is an extremely attractive woman and has always been very glamorous, and that hasn't changed either."
CAN'T STOP, WONT'T STOP
"She is on all kinds of fascinating cases," human rights expert Professor William Schabas, who's known Amal's work for several years now, tells PEOPLE. "Any fear that people might have had two years ago that she was going to retire to a swimming pool in Hollywood is certainly not what has happened." Amal still manages to make appearances in Hollywood, though, like at George's February Hail, Caesar! premiere.
SOMEONE TO LOVE
"It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love," Clooney said while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2014 Golden Globes. "Even better when you've been waiting your whole life, and when your whole life is 53 years … Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband."
SOMEONE TO LEAN ON
Easily a top-10 contender for "most adorable candid celebrity shot of all time," a snap of the couple at an event at the Vatican in May 2016. Look at that and try not to feel something, we dare you.
