The Clooneys and their nearest and dearest enjoyed a fireworks-studded meal on Lake Como
Amal, 37, wore a sleeveless green dress, gold earrings and red lipstick, while her younger sister Tala stole the show in a unique, asymmetrical red dress.
The Clooneys feasted on some of their favorite dishes, including mixed starters of fried prawns with bacon, caprese salad and Parma prosciutto ham with fruit salad, restaurant owner Paolo Quarantotto tells PEOPLE.
George and Amal had tagliata meat and rice with asparagus for their main courses, paired with Ca’ del Bosco Saten and Cremes Gaja wines.
“They were very happy and excited about seeing the impressive fireworks display, which is organized every year on the 14th of July to celebrate the Storming of the Bastille,” Quarantotto says.
“They were making many toasts too.”
The newlyweds have been holidaying at the waterside residence in recent weeks. They spent Fourth of July weekend hosting about 10 guests for a celebration at the private home, including actor Robert De Niro and his wife.
George and Amal have kept a low profile during their stay, but they seem “to be slipping into his summer routine,” a source told PEOPLE.
The couple also spent last summer at the Italy estate while they planned their Venice wedding ceremony, which was held Sept. 27 at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort.
