Whatever the disagreements that led to their split, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are united when it comes to protecting their children.

“Gwen and Gavin are getting along fine,” a Stefani source tells PEOPLE of the exes. “They haven’t had any problems getting along when it comes to their boys.”

From the time they announced their divorce last summer, the musicians’ primary concern was their sons – Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2 – and they settled their divorce in April with an agreement to share joint custody of the boys.

Stefani – who began dating Blake Shelton in the fall – is on tour promoting her new album This Is What the Truth Feels Like and has brought the boys on the road with her.

Meanwhile, Bush rocker Rossdale, 50, is also touring and putting the finishing touches on a new album.

“He’s doing great and staying focused on music and the kids,” says an insider. “When he’s not performing, Gavin spends his time with the kids. He knows the situation hasn’t been easy for them, and he’s with them as much as possible. They’re his life.”

Stefani, 46, and Rossdale announced their divorce last August. They had been together for 20 years and married for nearly 13.
