Gates's Gazillions to Aid Refugees

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has donated $2 million to improve health care for refugees worldwide. The grant, announced Wednesday, went to the New York-based International Rescue Committee, which was founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein to help refugees fleeing Hitler. “The grant is already being put to use funding a health assessment of refugees who fled East Timor,” said organization President Reynold Levy. The foundation, created by the Microsoft chairman, previously pledged $100 million to speed delivery of vaccines to children in developing countries.
