G.I. JFK Doll

G.I. Joe is about to welcome a new pal: John F. Kennedy. A $30-$35 JFK action figure, outfitted in a choice of either naval officer’s dress whites or PT-109 fatigues, is the first of a number of Kennedy products that will be made under a new agreement between Boston’s Kennedy Library Foundation and the Rhode Island-based Hasbro, which manufactures G.I. Joe, said a spokesman for the toy company. Hasbro, which vows to treat the late President’s image with respect, has offered to donate unspecified but significant royalties to the library foundation, Tom McNaught, a Kennedy Library Foundation spokesman, told the Boston Globe. No release date has been set, but the JFK figurine will be shown brandishing a knife to carve out a message on a coconut shell.
