Francesca Hilton, the daughter of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor and late hotelier Conrad Hilton, died Monday evening in Los Angeles. She was 67.

She died of an “apparent stroke/heart attack,” according to a statement from her rep, Edward Lozzi, USA Today reports.

“As Francesca’s publicist and one of her best friends I am shocked,” he said.

“We were on the phone minutes before she died,” Lozzi added. “We were discussing her book she was writing and a possible deal. She had to go to the restroom. She never made it out. I am so sad about my friend.”

Hilton was with her fiancé, Michael Natsis, when she went into distress, Lozzi said. Natsis administered CPR before she was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

She is survived by her 97-year-old mother. Hilton’s father died in 1979, leaving the vast majority of his multimillion-dollar estate to his foundation. She was given just $100,000.

Hilton sued for more, but lost.

“You can’t live in the past,” she said in a 2008 Los Angeles Times profile. “That was his decision.”

For years, Hilton fought with her stepfather, Frederic von Anhalt, in court over her ailing mother’s care.

Recently, von Anhalt, Gabor’s ninth husband, forbade Hilton from seeing her mother, who is suffering from dementia and can’t speak. Hilton had been discussing her legal options in the hours before her death, Lozzi said.
