While Frances Bean Cobain may be going through a divorce, another relationship in her life has seen a turnaround for the better.

Cobain and mother Courtney Love have healed a once troubled bond and are now closer than ever, a source tells PEOPLE.

“They’re on really great terms at the moment,” the source reveals. “Courtney wants the best for Frances and is hoping this will be a clean and straightforward divorce process.”

The 23-year-old daughter of Love and the late Kurt Cobain filed for divorce from husband Isaiah Silva last week. Cobain cited irreconcilable differences, after 21 months of marriage.

The source adds: “The whole money aspect was one of [Courtney’s] biggest worries all along for Frances.”

However, according the divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE, the filing asks that all premarital assets including Cobain’s inheritance – reportedly a $450 million fortune – be awarded to her as separate property. Love’s daughter is said to be open to paying Silva who fronts rock band The Eeries spousal support.

Love and Cobain were most recently seen enjoying a night out together at the Women In Creativity event in London on March 21.

Cobain stepped out for the first time since her divorce news broke at the Los Angeles International Airport last week.
