SCOOP: 4-Year-Old Cries When Asked About the First Day of School by Reporter
Leaving mom isn't easy!
You know those days when you’re feeling really brave, but all it takes is one thing to go wrong and it all comes crashing down? That’s basically what happened to 4-year-old Andrew Macias, who was all set to attend his first day of pre-kindergarten at City Terrace Elementary School (he had his hair slicked back, a nice blue polo on), but then he was interviewed by KTLA reporter Courtney Friel – and he lost it.
“Are you excited for pre-kindergarten?” Friel asked, which was answered with an ecstatic “Yes!” by Andrew.
“Are you gonna miss your mom?” she asked next. Andrew responded with a dismissive “no,” and joined in on a laugh with Friel – which quickly turned into the most adorable and heartbreaking cry.
After realizing that his mom is, in fact, not coming to class with him, Andrew quickly covers his face and slowly backs away from the interview. (Note: backing away from the camera when you are crying is a good instinct to have.)
The video has over 6.8 million views on Facebook at the time of this post, proving that becoming an Internet sensation is a lot easier than attending the first day of school. Stay brave, Andrew! Day two is always easier.
