The fashion CEO and the Facebook founder both made Fortune's 40 Under 40 List
They make deals worth billions. They change the way we travel, eat, dress and chat. And most joined the CEO club long before they ever had reason to linger in the wrinkle-cream aisle.
Meet the 2014 class of Fortune magazine’s 40 Under 40.
This year, the No. 1 spot is shared by Über car service co-founder Travis Kalanick, 38, and Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, 33. If you’ve hailed a car with your phone or booked a stay in a stranger’s home, you are already familiar with these influencers.
You might not know that Kalanick identifies with Harvey Keitel’s character in Pulp Fiction and that Chesky used his own room-sharing service for a year, rather than rent an apartment, reports Fortune.
Zuckerberg, 30, makes the list not just for his social network, but for his philanthropy: In 2014, he and wife Priscilla donated 18 million Facebook shares (valued at nearly $1 billion) to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, believed to be the largest charitable gift for the year.
And Trump, 32, who once told PEOPLE she schedules lunch meetings with her toddler daughter, holds the No. 33 place on the list for heading up her fashion brand while also being EVP of her dad’s hotel and real-estate empire.
Two secrets to her success? She never goes to bed with a full email inbox, she tells Fortune, and she occasionally unwinds by watching The Real Housewives.
