Flying the Soapy Skies

Even with all the bad press the aviation industry has been receiving lately, there is some light at the end of the runway tunnel. Friday’s Wall Street Journal reports that Boeing company researchers in Seattle have developed a method by which passengers on long-distance flights will be able to take showers. “It’s definitely coming for first and business class,” Dan Brunton, an executive who worked on the project, tells the Journal. Still to be worked out: Whether or not high flyers will want to step into a shower stall that’s already been used by 300 others — and how to avert less-than-modest travelers from traipsing down the aisle wearing nothing but a towel.
